Challenger Baseball

Challenger League is a division of little league baseball for the mentally and physically disabled youth.  These children from 4 years old through 18 years old (or up to age 22 through the completion of high school) can enjoy the full benefits of little league baseball in an athletic environment structured to their abilities.

The most fundamental goal of the Challenger Division is to give everyone the opportunity to play, regardless of limitations.  The league provides therapeutic and socialization benefits by participating on a team with other youth.  Children want to belong no matter what their challenges in life may be.

Buddies

One benefit of Challenger baseball is that it encourages the use of Buddies for Challenger players.  A Buddy assists the Challenger player on the field but whenever possible, encourages the player to bat and make plays themselves.  However, the Buddy is always nearby to help when needed.
